Hello,
since we live in a metropolitan area with relatively high-priced tradespeople, I would now like to tender the most expensive trades on a regional or nationwide basis (including the new federal states). Does anyone have experience with how to do this? Are there specific forums or marketplaces for this, apart from the one major platform featured on radio and television?
How do others handle finding tradespeople nationwide?
Thanks in advance and best regards!

We have an architect, but he works with contractors from the Rhineland region. However, we would prefer to outsource the most expensive trades elsewhere (so not Cologne/Bonn).You should take what neige says to heart. We only have local contractors and still have to wait when defects occur.

Traumfaenger24 May 2016 20:39That’s how we know it as well. Local contractors are fully booked and don’t have time for such small jobs… I also don’t see the need to hire exactly the same contractor who was involved in the construction in case of an emergency. Who can guarantee that the company will still exist then or hasn’t been sold to someone else?

If you think that way, why do you even worry about the warranty? Are you referring to me? I don’t worry about the warranty. If everything is fine at the final inspection, that’s great. If something comes up five years later, the situation will probably change anyway. But I don’t see any difference whether I argue with a tradesperson 5, 50, or 100 meters (yards) away.

I find it quite harsh that some say it's fine to hire a different company for minor tasks.
I would never even consider that.

Traumfaenger25 May 2016 15:08I’m not referring to minor details, but the one or two most expensive trades. And what do you mean by "another company"? My point is to consider including companies from a wider radius. The frequently mentioned 50–100 km (30–60 miles) seems acceptable in an urban area. However, everyone has to decide that for themselves. My question wasn’t about whether this is the majority opinion, but whether anyone has experience with how to handle this operationally (forums for tendering, etc.).
