ᐅ Costs for the Garden

we are currently planning our house construction and are wondering how much we should roughly budget for landscaping (just a rough estimate)?

The plot size will be around 400-450 m² (4300-4800 sq ft), with a house size of 120-140 m² (1300-1500 sq ft).

Could you share your experiences on how much to expect for landscaping costs (just lawn, fence/hedge) – even though this is quite a general question? 🙂

I believe no one can simply answer that for you, as everyone has different requirements and so on. Additionally, there are significant price differences depending on the materials and the amount of self-contracted work.

No one can give you a general answer to that. You could spend a few thousand, but also 100,000, in the same garden.

Exactly, it’s hard to say. What are your requirements? Setting up a 250m2 (2,690 sq ft) garden can become quite expensive.

Well, it will be lawn/fence/hedge. It’s really a question of what kind of hedge and what type of fence, as there are significant differences. However, you should budget between 1,500 and 3,000 euros, depending on whether you build it yourself or have it done by a contractor.

Facts:

I am planting a Thuja Smaragd hedge with 160cm (63 inches) tall trees. For a 25m (82 feet) long hedge, including delivery, it costs 825€.

For 150m² (1,615 sq ft) of sod with soil replacement and installation, the price is 2,500€.
