Hello everyone,

we are currently planning our new build. The house will have approximately 175 square meters (1880 square feet) of living space.
At the moment, we are researching ventilation systems. We want a central ventilation system with heat recovery and would like to ask if you can recommend any manufacturers or models.
It is important for us to have an efficient ventilation system with quiet operation as well as low maintenance costs (filter changes).

Furthermore, we are interested in whether you generally recommend a central ventilation system with an enthalpy exchanger or with a rotary heat exchanger. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.

Thank you very much for your help.

Good luck

An activated carbon filter is installed somewhere in the supply air duct. The most important factor is that the filter surface area is as large as possible to be effective. With Zehnder, you can easily and compactly attach various components directly to the mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system (search for Comfowell). With other systems, you may need to build a filter box into the airflow (which is certainly not complicated). The mechanical ventilation with heat recovery and air distribution do not necessarily have to come from the same manufacturer, meaning you could combine a Viessmann mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery with a Zehnder air distribution system.

When we planned this 1.5 years ago, Zehnder was considered the gold standard for mechanical ventilation with heat recovery. Therefore, we chose a Viessmann heat pump and a Zehnder mechanical ventilation with heat recovery system.

Oh man, just when you think things are finally calming down, new issues to resolve keep popping up...

I'll add that to the list as well! Thanks!
