Hello everyone,
we are currently planning our new build. The house will have approximately 175 square meters (1880 square feet) of living space.
At the moment, we are researching ventilation systems. We want a central ventilation system with heat recovery and would like to ask if you can recommend any manufacturers or models.
It is important for us to have an efficient ventilation system with quiet operation as well as low maintenance costs (filter changes).
Furthermore, we are interested in whether you generally recommend a central ventilation system with an enthalpy exchanger or with a rotary heat exchanger. Both have their advantages and disadvantages.
Thank you very much for your help.
Good luck

@Curly: At what setting do you run the Zehnder Q350 TR, and what are the approximate annual costs for filters?
What humidity levels do you have in winter without the enthalpy heat exchanger?
Do you plan to use the enthalpy heat exchanger only in winter, or will it run in summer as well?
Thank you!

We are running it at level 2 (186 cubic meters of air). I have no idea about the cost of filters; you can check online stores to see their prices. We change the exhaust air filters every 3 months.
We will see if we keep the enthalpy heat exchanger in use year-round; without it, the humidity is only between 25 and a maximum of 30 percent.
Best regards,
Sabine

We also have a Helios controlled residential ventilation system with an enthalpy heat exchanger. I disconnected the entire control system of the Helios ventilation and connected it to our DDC for house and heating control/management. I regulate it based on humidity and air quality. For this purpose, I installed a continuous control recirculation damper that limits the outside air intake. This way, we always maintain fairly constant conditions inside the house.
I would like to add a question here: What has been your experience regarding the additional cost of the enthalpy exchanger? Also, is it better to have it installed directly by the house or heating company, or is it safe to purchase it yourself and install it in the ventilation system after the final inspection?
Best regards
Best regards

May I ask if the (rather small) difference in humidity is noticeably felt on your end? The same system is supposed to be installed for us...
