Hello everyone!

Does it make sense to start a new build in mid to late October, or is it better to begin early in the spring? I know it depends on the weather, and the argument that the shell can dry out over the winter speaks in favor of autumn. However, if an early winter arrives again, in my opinion, it will be quite tight. It will be a solid construction without a basement. Maybe some of you have experience and can share it with me. Thank you!

What construction timeline are you planning? We started in May and then ran into the difficult autumn period for screed and plaster.

Why is autumn unfavorable for this? Because it doesn’t dry as quickly anymore? Well, the plan is to start in March as soon as possible, so we’d have the screed and so on done by summer. Or we could also do it in October...

It was wet and cold... The plasterers and underfloor heating installers brought electric heaters to keep warm during work -.- Unfortunately, this caused warm, moist air to condense on the relatively cold drywall, which then resulted in some mold forming...

"Mid to late October" is practically now. Is everything ready? Has the building permit / planning permission been approved, is the contract signed, and is the earliest start of construction confirmed in writing?

If it is too warm... then it is also problematic for the people because it dries too quickly, causing cracks... so no matter how you do it, there is no perfect timeframe...
