ᐅ Central room temperature controller for the fan coil unit (FCU) of the underfloor heating system

Hello,

Is there a way to control the ERR centrally on one device, so that, for example, the children cannot adjust the underfloor heating control (heating circuit)? Also, I don’t mind not having a thermostat with a controller in every room. What would be the alternative? Are there sensor-only devices that, for example, send the temperature wirelessly to the central unit, or does a separate fixed setting for the respective heating circuit also count as an ERR?

Good luck

You can even disconnect the actuators, so you don’t have to worry about whether all the ERRs are fully open. This also saves the standby power consumption of the actuators...

Who is responsible for the hydraulic balancing if I consider the installer incompetent (at least in these matters)? When is the best time to carry it out? After the first heating season?

It seems that making precise adjustments is not really worthwhile for a professional, as the effects of changes only become visible after 2-3 days. This means a professional would have to come by several times in a row for 5 minutes each.
So it’s best to read up thoroughly and do it yourself.

So you mean that I should set all thermostats permanently to the maximum temperature and adjust the target temperature for each room directly on the heat pump?
Exactly. If this is done, any existing bypass valve should also be closed so that the entire flow goes through the underfloor heating and not a large part bypasses it directly into the return line.

You will have to do it yourself during the heating season.

Not exactly. You can’t set the desired temperature for individual rooms directly on the heat pump. (There are systems with such control, but that would be another technical topic.)

You adjust the temperatures of the individual rooms through balancing. Use the "worst" room as a reference point. Turn all radiator valves fully open. Then adjust the flow temperature so that your target temperature is reached in the worst room. The others will likely be too warm at first. Then you gradually close their valves until the correct temperature is reached there as well.

This process obviously can’t be done in 5 minutes.

It’s a simplified explanation, but if you search online, you will find guides on this.
