Hi,

I have the following problem:

My carport is made of aluminum panels with a metal roof.
When it gets colder outside, and the sun shines on the roof, the inside of the roof starts to drip.
Not the inside roof surface itself, but the crossbeams.
What options are there to cover these beams so they don’t constantly leave these "unsightly" water drops on my car?
The carport is well ventilated and covered on one side with a "permeable" cladding.

Welcome to reality – physics has caught you out. Since there is a cavity in the beams, condensation occurs, which you cannot prevent.

You could install something like a drip edge around it, but that is quite complicated.

Learn to live with it – if it rains while you are away, there is nothing you can do.

Besides the "rain gutter," the only other thing that comes to mind is an anti-condensation fleece that you could apply.

That’s exactly what I was thinking. It should help with moisture buffering for a while and might also speed up drying... Maybe I’ll get some of that fleece and try it out in the spring...

That is condensation. It should dry on the car roof without leaving any marks. Once you have marten marks on the roof, you'll only have yourself to blame.

Well, you can definitely see a few "dry" drops, especially under every crossbeam.

The marten tracks are currently under the car. It always dashes out from underneath like a shot.
Then the ultrasonic marten repeller activates, and it really hates that.
