Hello!
The idea of building is still just an idea, nothing concrete yet.
It would be a prefabricated bungalow, but I don’t know much more than that. I don’t have a plot of land yet either.
I am very uncertain if I can manage such a project because I have absolutely no knowledge about it, I am not particularly articulate or assertive, I am not good at organizing, not very stress-resistant, and I am doing this alone. I also don’t have a circle of friends who have built before that I could ask.
Is there still a way to carry out such a project without it going wrong or completely overwhelming me?
I thought if I hire a construction company with a lot of experience, like for example Huf-Haus or Schwörerhaus or similar, things shouldn’t go too wrong because these companies have built countless houses, so there usually wouldn’t be any major mistakes, right?
If I also hire a building supervisor or construction consultant, I would have extra security.
At the moment, I have no idea what kind of organization is involved. Will the builder guide the client step by step through the process, including things like utility connections or other matters not directly related to the house? Or does one have to find out everything on their own about what needs to be done?
Seriously, do you think anyone can build a house, or is it really impossible for some people and they should rather leave it alone?

What I particularly like is an open design without ceilings, so the space extends all the way up to the roof. It looks really cool...
That’s why I came across EBK-Haus. Their website is well laid out, and you can find a lot of information quickly (just no prices). The company is not local to southern Germany, but according to their website, they also build abroad, so they probably operate across regions and should be able to build a house in Baden-Württemberg as well.
Perhaps there are other builders who also offer this open design concept?

An apartment wouldn’t be suitable for you? A house should be larger than 100 sqm (1,076 sq ft); in my opinion, anything smaller feels more like a holiday home.
Regarding accessibility and stairs: My grandparents are over 80 and still use stairs. A little physical activity helps to stay fit.

And regarding accessibility and stairs: My grandparents are over 80 and still use stairs. A bit of exercise helps keep you fit. I have already lived in a condominium, and the problem there is that you don’t live alone, and I don’t want to have to coordinate with others (which can be annoying, like owners’ meetings and so on), nor do I want to put up with their noise. I need my own place for the long term, where I have peace and quiet.
As for stairs: it’s great if you can still climb them at 80, but it can also happen that you can’t anymore. No matter how much you want to, if it’s not possible, it’s not possible. Stairlifts are quite expensive and may be difficult to operate alone. Since I live alone, I need to be able to stay independent in my house for as long as possible.
