we are planning our new house, which will include a basement. According to the soil report, we need to apply "a thick waterproof coating in the earth-covered area to protect against rising groundwater." What exactly does this entail, and approximately how much additional cost should we expect? This is not yet included in the basement quote. The external dimensions are about 8 x 10 m (26 x 33 ft), with the basement being approximately 1.5 m (5 ft) below ground and the rest above.

You probably mean "below-ground structural elements."

It is necessary to prevent seepage water from penetrating the basement exterior walls or the joints. The soil report should also include recommendations regarding building waterproofing. What does the soil expert advise? Which exposure class applies? Is drainage possibly sufficient?
