ᐅ Baseboards behind kitchen cabinets

Hello,

Does it make sense to install the tile baseboards behind the kitchen units as well? From an aesthetic point of view, it wouldn’t really make sense...

I would proceed by having the kitchen installed first and then fit the baseboards so they meet the kitchen units.

And what if you install a new kitchen in a few years and change the layout? I would/will have the plinth installed all around.

Hello Sascha, thank you for your response. The kitchen layout itself cannot be changed due to the floor plan. It could only be made slightly larger or smaller. Still, thanks for the suggestion!

What is recommended: Seal the wall to the floor under the kitchen with a silicone joint (if you are not installing a baseboard). This way, if water runs behind the kitchen units, it won't get into the gap between them. If you use a baseboard, this is usually done anyway.

This will definitely be done. Better safe than sorry...

When it comes to tiling, it’s worth going all the way... I agree. But by now, you’re probably already finished with it.
