we are currently at the shell construction stage and preparing the exterior electrical installations. Now I am wondering whether it makes sense to prepare for an awning or fixed canopy using so-called mounting blocks. These allow direct attachment through the plaster without the need for special anchors or similar. My idea was to install four of these blocks over a length of 4 meters (13 feet). Does that make sense? Can they be used that universally? Has anyone done this?

Osnabruecker8 Aug 2022 15:40If you know the system you will use later, you might consider that. But placing the mounting points without certainty is not advisable.
Also, make sure to check which system it is. Many are simply not approved for the extensions you mentioned.
It’s best to contact the manufacturer now regarding the canopy/awning to find out their installation guidelines.
