Hello everyone,
Basically, I will avoid home automation for cost reasons. The only thing I would like is smart roller shutters, to quickly darken all windows in the summer when it gets hot, for example.
I would prefer to avoid devices like Shelly or similar if possible. It shouldn’t be a DIY solution but still as affordable as possible.
Does anyone have any suggestions on what would make sense?

What exactly has been modified on a Shelly device?

Personally, I wanted push buttons instead of an app, but if needed in the future, the 20€/each (about $22/each) units will be replaced with Shelly devices or similar.
That’s exactly why I chose the Shelly devices. I wanted push buttons and an open system to connect it with other sensors and actuators. An app is nice to have, but more of a means to an end.

I have installed Somfy wireless roller shutters and venetian blinds. When used together with the TaHoma Switch, you can control your shutters in a new building via app or voice control and create scenes.

Please don’t take this the wrong way, but this is exactly what I would avoid. It’s a purely wireless solution and limited to just one manufacturer. It might be a workable option for an older building if you want to get rid of manual roller shutter coils, but for a new build, I only see disadvantages.

In our new build, we have all motors controlled via a wireless system; it works great, and I am very satisfied with it. I see no disadvantages.

And that is the most important thing: satisfaction.

Perhaps the original poster should simply specify their exact requirements once again.
