Hello everyone,

Today, I noticed larger gaps in the partition wall (calcium silicate brick) of our new build (semi-detached house).
Is this "normal," or should I raise this issue with the builder?

Thank you and best regards

Hello,

You mean the partition wall between the two halves of the house (party wall)?
To my knowledge, these must be filled with mineral wool for sound insulation. If I’m not mistaken, in my case it was 2.5cm (1 inch) of ProHaus on each side, so 5cm (2 inches) in total.

I am referring to the wall itself, not the joint between the two semi-detached houses.

Hello,

do you mean because mortar is missing in the joint? Or is it because the joints are too wide for your taste?

In terms of sound insulation, I find the joints too wide.
