For everyone still considering whether to install some form of cooling, I would say YES!
Today it’s almost 40°C (104°F) outside. Phew! Luckily, back then we opted for "cooling yes or no?" and chose yes.

Our cooling runs very energy-efficiently through our ground source heat pump in the floor (the cold is basically just pumped upwards). We have a comfortable 22.1°C (72°F) in the rooms.

Honestly, this climate change is really annoying me. If anyone has a plot of land to sell cheaply at the North Cape, please get in touch.

I planned to build a wooden deck for a hot tub on the sunny slope on Tuesday and Wednesday but postponed the work due to the heat. I usually like hot days, but on days like recently, when the air temperature exceeds body temperature, there is no need to work outside at midday without shade. Now the hot tub has been delivered, and the wooden deck is not finished. Bad timing.

Oh, not good. Can you reposition it on your own, or do you need a crane? I thought it was located in your forest or at the edge of the forest.

No problem at all, the whirlpool thing is a Softub and doesn’t weigh much. The carrier left it at the curbside, and we rolled it inside still in its packaging. I moved the other parts from the pallet into my car and drove them up—unloading again in a children’s apartment, where it’s safe. The boards for the terrace were delivered halfway up; the remaining 6 meters (20 feet) of height were carried manually.
Yes, the hot tub will be placed at the edge of the forest and will be a great reward for the effort of the past few days.

I really can’t stand the heat either. I’m definitely a winter person. Luckily, we live in a well-insulated older building with thick walls. After the last heatwave, the warmest room briefly reached 27°C (81°F), but normally the temperature inside the house doesn’t go above 25°C (77°F), even though the house gets sun from morning until evening (west-south-east, with the neighbor to the north). In the attic, we keep windows open on all three sides at night and do a thorough airing first thing in the morning. On the ground floor, we don’t leave windows open at night due to burglary risks, and not on the first floor either, because that’s where the children sleep. We also shade all windows right after the morning airing (unfortunately, except in the attic we don’t have external blinds). This way, we manage quite well during these temperatures, even without air conditioning.

Wow, nordlys, that's really not acceptable. You can't just photograph strangers at the nude beach and post the pictures online!

That's quite far away; you can't really see them.
