Hello everyone.

Are there any issues with fine dust when the air source heat pump is installed on the roof and the chimney is located directly next to it?

Thank you.

What type of chimney is this? Wood stove or other fuels? Are the exhaust gases directed through the main flue towards the fan?

Single-flue, room air-dependent chimney; 18cm diameter (7 inches); manufacturer: TONA; model TONAtec.
Wood stove – only wood as fuel.

The fan is located south of the chimney. Since the prevailing wind direction is rarely from the north, the exhaust gases are theoretically not carried toward the ventilation.

However, the distance between the fan and the chimney is approximately 1m (3 feet).

My gut feeling is that this is not the ideal solution, but it will work. In the worst case, you might need to clean the fins/ribs from time to time. Try to achieve different heights on both sides as well. Basically, it should be fine. However, make sure to get a written confirmation from the plumber in case it turns out to be a bigger issue.
