Hello everyone,
We have planned two windows in the children's rooms: a knee wall window and a standard window.
However, according to the plan, the windows have different sill heights. The knee wall window has a sill height of 77 cm (30 inches) and measures 1.73 by 0.62 m (5 ft 8 in by 2 ft), while the other window has a sill height of 90 cm (35 inches) and measures 1.73 by 1.26 m (5 ft 8 in by 4 ft 2 in).
Our knee wall is 1.80 m (5 ft 11 in) high. The knee wall window can be tilted open.
Does the difference in sill heights look odd, or is it hardly noticeable? The windows are not on the same wall but on adjacent walls.
Thanks and best regards

Oh, if you're still out of breath sprinting from the living room, up the angled stairs to the crib in the dressing room (or how was that again?), you won’t even notice it ;-)

Where (in https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/grundriss-175qm-satteldach-ohne-keller.45056/ or https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/grundrissfrage-tausch-gerader-treppe-durch-l-treppe.45712/ ?) is the current house design actually posted?

I think you should just get started now; it won’t get any greener. You can live well in a house that isn’t perfectly flawless, and it certainly doesn’t mean it has failed.

Clear answer. Do it as planned. The child’s interest in the window—you can’t see it anyway—is about the same as in a sack of rice falling over in China. It won’t stand out.

From the outside, it’s a matter of the overall appearance. Since you don’t show any plans or animations/views, there is no answer. Opinions can range from “really bad” to “looks great and adds variety.”

On the contrary: secondly, I responded with humor because I had already put a lot of effort into answering your questions, only to hear, no no, the floor plan is actually no longer current – there is already a newer version, just not yet shown. And firstly, I did answer your question, just not in the expected way like “oh yes, that’s a valid reason to delay construction even longer.” The truth, even if it’s painfully incomprehensible to you, is simply …

… if that phrasing is easier for you to understand.

In post #2, I linked to where the OP showed it: in the opening post, you can see in picture 7 (child) and picture 6 (child 2) that it fits excellently into the lively exterior view. Incidentally, the answer to

is, strictly speaking: from the outside it would actually look more awkward if both parapet heights were the same.
The “architects” at prefab home companies are usually women who do this very professionally, and as Loriot said, a housewife would have a good instinct for this ;-)

Ask your architect for a rendering. By the way, I wouldn’t just focus on those two windows, but on all of them. In many houses, the windows are placed randomly like a mess.
