Dear house-building community,
We want to extensively green our carport. It is basically already prepared with an EPDM membrane. This is something we plan to tackle sometime in the future. We have heard that it’s not very complicated, and since we are not under any time pressure, we want to do it ourselves—next year or the year after.
Now the information gathering begins, and I wanted to tap into the collective knowledge here.
Has anyone done this before? Which suppliers can you recommend? What should we definitely pay attention to? Etc.
Did you use seeds or plants? How long does it take until it actually looks good?
Looking forward to your feedback!

No idea if this is comparable.
If it is, here’s a little observation that has been happening in front of my window for days now.
At my workplace, no one has taken care of a warehouse roof for 20 years.
After the drainage stopped working, everything had to be removed.
In about 50 man-hours, the large bushes and roots were cleared out, and for the past three days a team of five has been stripping off the top layers and vacuuming up the entire structure, including the root system.
So far, approximately 50% of the area has been completed (estimated size around 250m²-300m² (2700-3200 ft²)).
A roof like this also requires some maintenance, and you should regularly check what plants have taken hold and started growing there.

I hope you don’t mind me joining this topic. If it’s not appropriate, please feel free to move it. Thanks.
Unfortunately, our construction company hasn’t managed to install a green roof on our garage in two years. The seeds were always sown during very hot weather, so nothing grew.
Now, over autumn and winter, a lot of moss (I assume that’s what it is) and weeds have appeared. See the pictures.
We would now like to do the greening ourselves.
Should the moss be completely removed beforehand, or can it be left as is?
Regarding Bauder, I noted: Should we just sow seeds or also plant sedum plants?

Oh, and we live in a rural area surrounded by fields, in case that matters.
Thanks in advance!
