Hello everyone,
we currently have a double washbasin in the bathroom with two separate hot and cold water connections.
We now want to switch to a single washbasin with one faucet.

To avoid a dead-end pipe, the redundant pipe should be completely removed. However, this would require opening the wall.

Are there other options, for example, connecting both hot water lines and then feeding one line to the faucet? The same with the cold water lines.

Are you sure that the connections don’t first branch off underneath the sink?

I have two separate angle valves for hot water and two for cold water.

I’m currently on my way to work. I can attach a photo this evening.

As long as the pipe is shared (which I assume), nothing should happen regarding a dead-end pipe. Instead of a shut-off valve, you could simply place a cap on the one cold and one hot water line, and that would be it.

If you only close a hot water valve and a cold water valve ... this could lead to a Legionella problem.
A 10 cm (5 inches) long dead-end pipe is not recommended.
