I am honestly shocked right now. Our construction company just informed me that they want 21.4% more money due to price increases in the building industry. At the moment, I am still stunned and can’t think clearly.

If I were to present myself as unpleasant as a broom (the client with the slaughterhouse), I would run into many walls and barriers. @ypg: I am currently reading through this thread and came across your "nice" way of describing me. We have always had opposing views, but apparently you think you are entitled to attack me (unpleasant as a broom) and consider yourself superior. That is arrogance beyond measure.

Since you have to give up the divided-light windows anyway, how about installing them only on the front? That way, you’ll still get the expected enjoyment when you arrive at your property. You can add the shutters later. Thanks for your advice. Since they wouldn’t have been “true” divided lights but rather internal muntins, I’ve gradually accepted that the windows will be without any grilles—it’s probably more up to date anyway. So far, I had successfully pushed aside the thought that internal muntins don’t look quite as good, but now I’m bringing that thought back to the front. ;-)
Because we are building a prefabricated house with a timber frame construction, adding shutters afterwards is not simple; it seems possible but quite complicated. I have almost forgotten that original wish as well.
I know I will like the house anyway, and we will feel comfortable and happy there— even if we started out as tigers and ended up as doormats. 🙂

Thanks for your tips. They started out as tigers and ended up as bath mats. 🙂My new desired feature is a circular terrace with a fountain, located in a central spot in the garden. 🙂Pinkiponk schrieb:
Since we are building a prefabricated house using timber frame construction, the shutters cannot simply be added later; It is best to plan from the start that the shutter rails run exactly there, or that reinforcements are provided. Similar to awnings, canopies, etc.
