ᐅ The toilet drain pipe is backing up on us!

I believe it’s normal that things don’t always go smoothly during construction, but in our case, it’s really been problematic.

Our toilet drain pipe on the upper floor wasn’t completely connected.

We have a still unfinished light well, and shortly after we moved into our not yet fully completed house, my husband noticed that larger animals seemed to be leaving droppings in the light well. I should mention that currently only our little son uses the toilet.

Well, the piles increased, and by chance, my husband was standing by the light well when a rush of water came out of an empty conduit.

Great, right? The outcome is that the wall in the office, located in the basement, has to be opened up, and a pipe has to be installed.

We’re pretty upset... a new house and already having to tear things open again.

How can something like this be forgotten?!

That is really nonsense.

You know, I have neighbors who completely forgot their entire wastewater connection! It wasn’t until the sewage ended up in their front yard.
The wastewater connection was supposed to be installed by the builder (prefabricated house on a raised slab foundation), and the homeowners simply didn’t think about it...

Shxxxx in the truest sense of the word. What does the builder say?

This happens more often than one might think. Our neighbors had similar issues as well.

And that wasn’t noticed during installation? – So where did the mess go then, was there a backflow of solid material inside the pipe and did the water seep out at the pipe end onto the foundation slab?
