Hello everyone,
Yesterday, I was shocked to find out that the roof tiles do not extend over the gutter.
Is this such a significant defect that I can request a complete re-roofing? I would prefer not to have the gap closed only with a metal flashing. That would be a visual disaster, especially when directly compared to the neighbor’s roof.

Ask the roofer to explain how they plan to solve this. Obviously, the gutters need to be connected and the drip edges are missing. But somehow, it still doesn’t look finished. The right tile seems to be installed upside down. Talk to them and then take action.

The roof is not finished yet. The side where it connects to the neighbor has not been started. The different roof tiles look exactly like that too. Have the next steps explained to you, then you will know more. The transition definitely should not remain as it is.Don’t get hung up on the tape or the gutter.
This is a work in progress and not finished. I think (hope) the tape was used to seal it temporarily to reduce dripping until it’s completed.
The connection between the roof tiles and the gutter is also not finished, that’s clear.
My question is whether I have to settle for a long eaves flashing, or if this is simply wrong and the tiles need to be installed differently.
