ᐅ Floor Plan of a Narrow, Rectangular L-Shaped House on a Triangular Plot with an Oak Tree

Hello everyone!

We have purchased a triangular plot of land. As if that weren’t complicated enough, there is also a large oak tree that must be considered during the planning. In our initial considerations, it quickly became clear that the floor plan will have an L-shape.

Does anyone here have experience with this type of plot and a correspondingly shaped floor plan? What additional information is needed to get meaningful advice?

Best regards

Small update: View from the kitchen window...

Shell construction site: red supports, concrete block walls, wooden beam ceiling, stone debris and puddle on the floor

It’s great to see progress on your project. The house visible to the left from the window— is that a newer building? It looks like it was constructed using the natural rubble stone that used to be typical in the "Aachener Voreifel" region. I’m curious whether this material is still used today and, if so, where it can still be sourced...

The slight waviness of the ridge beam confirms my initial suspicion that this is more of an "original" structure – and I fear you won’t see anything like this newly built anymore in the era of energy efficiency regulations (clinker bricks are hardly producible from it). If anyone could accommodate such a design intent, it would probably be the paving manufacturers (or stonemasons) in the Eifel / Pellenz / Venn region. U-value calculators generally favor more homogeneous building materials.

I’m looking forward to seeing pictures of the living room during construction.
