Hello everyone,
What are your thoughts on security cameras? I am considering installing two outside. I have already looked through the websites of the regional data protection authorities and noted the essentials (notice sign, deletion policy, masking public areas, etc.). The main goal is deterrence and to be informed about what happens when I am away.
Do you have cameras on your property or even more, like an alarm system? What are your reasons for or against them?
Thank you and best regards,
Andrea85

The issue that has been "discussed for years" then clashes with the GDPR, which only came into effect last year.
It would be much easier to review and understand if specific legal texts plus comments or court rulings were quoted, or if references included paragraph/article numbers, provided one is actually sure about the information and not just writing (one nicely, the other less nicely) without certainty.

Yes. The purchase and installation of the equipment are subsidized by the development bank KfW in Frankfurt am Main. The grant amounts are tiered. For the first 1,000 euros (about 1,100 USD) of your expenses, you receive a subsidy of 20 percent. For every additional euro, you only get a subsidy of 10 percent. The government provides a maximum of 1,600 euros (about 1,760 USD). So if you spend 1,200 euros (about 1,320 USD) on the video camera and installation work, you will receive a total subsidy of 220 euros (about 240 USD). You can find out how to apply for the subsidy on the KfW website.

he meant the legal code and section for your statement. Oh, I see
The answer remains the same. I didn’t invent those terms myself. You can enter phrases like "data subject rights GDPR," "right to one’s own image," or "personality rights" into the data engines of your choice and you will immediately find the sources.
Those who are too lazy to do that themselves get silly answers to silly questions.
