who can recommend reliable construction companies in southern Schleswig-Holstein? We plan to build a solidly constructed city villa of 140-150 sqm (1506-1615 sq ft) in the Pinneberg district.
There are many providers available, but direct comparison is really difficult. In the end, you always know more than before.
The following aspects are important:
- Price-performance ratio (also after selecting finishes)
- Construction time (from contract signing to handover)
- Build quality
- Good planning phase, construction phase, and warranty phase
- Possibly using own trades
- Possibly performing some work by ourselves

Big-name companies with regional offices or partners remain big names; behind 150 houses built annually, there can still be a successful medium-sized company, but with a significantly higher output, it is probably no longer owner-managed. The closer the previous clients live to each other, the more likely it is that the company’s good reputation has spread locally.

Some of the mentioned companies do not allow you to do any work yourself or hire subcontractors, so they might not be suitable for you.
Addendum: Personally, I think Baumeister-Haus as a concept is not bad—a nationwide association of regional construction companies that leverage synergies, which with some luck can benefit the homeowner. There is likely a partner in southern Hedwig-Holzbein as well.
In general: visit the construction company, review references and sample selections, compare the scope of work descriptions, and ask lots of questions!
