Hello everyone,

In our apartment (newly built), we had some walls painted in color.

As you can see in the photos, the walls were not painted all the way up to the ceiling. There are clearly visible uneven edges in some spots more than others.

Do I have to accept this, or is it considered a defect?

Thank you very much for your help!

Best regards,

Jegor

I agree with the others. I paint my own walls, always in color.
Previously, I painted close to the ceiling like you do, but now I tape it off with a white strip.
Exactly for that reason. It never looks better or different when painted close to the ceiling.

Therefore, this is not a defect. The unevenness in this case is due to the plaster.

Just install a trim strip around it and you’re done.

Bright living space with bookshelf, framed wall art, chairs with blanket, round ceiling light.

Scrap strip – a very nice term and a good solution!

Brbrbrbrbr, this botched strip is so 1980s, probably made of polystyrene foam back then.

Exactly. Styrofoam, painted with ceiling paint and glued with Sille. Just like in the old days. Tried and tested, always popular, used throughout our entire house.

Why? Poor workmanship?
