I’m not sure if this topic is in the right subforum, but I’m hoping it is.
I actually have a very simple question: What kind of costs should one roughly expect for removing 2 old garage doors and installing 2 new electric garage doors at the same time? The old up-and-over doors are to be replaced with 2 sectional doors.

Then someone wanted to make quite a profit! Considering that the ISO 45 sectional door costs €998 (including the motor), they are asking for €4000 for installation and removal. My brother-in-law is paying just under €1450 gross for an ISO 45 door, including the motor and installation. From what I was able to find during my research, Hörmann and Novoferm are comparable in quality.
The only difference is that with Hörmann, as far as I remember, the less-insulated door is only available in white.

The only difference seems to be that Hörmann only offers the less well insulated door in white, if I remember correctly.Exactly, but we want the better insulated door anyway and only requested that option.
In the Novoferm quote, the regular price of nearly €2,000 per door was charged instead of the promotional price. Why? I could ask again just out of curiosity (given the extremely poor reviews, this company would not have been an option for us anyway). The only possible reason might be that the size we need is not included in the promotion. Then they charged over €300 for each motor, and removal/installation costs added another €500 per door.
These promotions are usually just a way to fool customers. Some home improvement stores run sales 24/7, 365 days a year, offering 20% off. It’s not really cheaper, maybe just cheaper-looking!
A garage door motor alone can range from basic quality at 150 euros to very solid quality and features at 4,000 euros. You just have to weigh where you want quality and what you can afford.

But this is about a promotion from the manufacturer, not from a hardware store.
