Hello everyone, in the kitchen that came with our house, there is an old built-in refrigerator. We would now like to replace it. Since there is still space above the fridge inside the cabinet, we would like to install a larger (meaning taller) built-in refrigerator with a fixed door. Because the door panel no longer fits (it is too small) and I can’t seem to find anything online: where can you get a simple (e.g., white) door panel? Best regards, ashley

...or is such a cover always included with a built-in refrigerator?

The panel (front) is part of the kitchen. So, either you get a larger front from the kitchen manufacturer and a smaller one for the cabinet above, or the new refrigerator needs to be the same size as the old one.

How should such a front come with a built-in refrigerator anyway – even white fronts are available in countless variations.

Well, the kitchen is 25 years old but still looks like new. I probably won’t be able to get a cover panel from the manufacturer anymore. However, I wouldn’t mind at all if there was a simple white cover panel. Apparently, such a thing doesn’t exist. Aren’t these standard dimensions, and don’t kitchen showrooms sometimes have these cover panels regardless of the brand and age of the fitted kitchen?

If you no longer receive any response from the kitchen manufacturer, I would suggest consulting a carpenter.

Yes, I had thought that too. But then the cover panel ends up being more expensive than the refrigerator.
