ᐅ Saving with local solar heating

Hello everyone,

Can someone tell me if it makes sense to skip the solar system when heating with a district heating system? I got information from a neighbor who talked to a heating technician and an energy consultant. They said it probably doesn’t pay off. Since you would also need either a buffer tank or even a system that somehow stores both—meaning hot water from solar and district heating for the radiator system.

We could save another 4,000€ on the solar setup. I think that would cover heating costs for quite some time before it pays off.

What do you mean by local heating network? New build or renovation? Solar thermal system for heating and/or domestic hot water?
