A quick question. The current offer from the house building company includes the following regarding heating:

"A split air-to-water heat pump (manufacturer Viessmann, Junkers, or Wolff) with a 300-liter (79-gallon) hot water tank (without solar). The system is complete with all control and regulation equipment."

The house will have underfloor heating on the ground floor and first floor, with about 170 m² (1830 sq ft) of living space. There are currently three people living in the house (though it’s possible that there may be children in the future).

Is a 300-liter (79-gallon) hot water tank appropriately sized? The shower will be used significantly more than the bathtub...

Hello,

yes, that’s enough ... as long as, in my opinion, no rainfall shower is installed; these consume quite a lot of water.

There are five units with a 290-liter (77-gallon) storage tank each.
It only becomes problematic if all five want to shower or bathe one after the other.

Great, thanks for the information.
A rain shower is not planned...

180-liter (48-gallon) storage tank, 4 people, no issues so far – however, the children do not shower regularly yet.

We haven’t had any issues with that so far. We have a 180-liter (48-gallon) water heater for two people. I shower normally, my wife showers somewhat longer. So far, the 180-liter (48-gallon) tank has been more than enough. It is even set to the “top” setting, meaning only the upper part of the water is heated to the target temperature.
