We have been living in our new house since March 2015 and installed the shower and bathtub ourselves. However, for the past few weeks, the water drains very slowly or not at all. What could be the cause? Which drain cleaner would you recommend? Or is it better to call a professional right away?

Have you cleaned the filters yet?

Yes, we clean them regularly. Especially since there are four of us (two women with long hair).

Which filters?

Is the duct properly ventilated? What slope do you have? Otherwise, I would recommend hiring a professional – how is the forum supposed to help you with that information?

Hmm, that sounds like a blockage... Have you cleaned the trap as well, or do you mean the drain cover or something similar when you say filter? I’m not sure what kind of setup you have...

It can’t be related to the slope; otherwise, we would have had this problem from the beginning. However, it has only been clogged for a few weeks. I have never heard of ventilating the pipe, so we will probably have to call a professional after all.
