Hello,

The total width of the base cabinets, including the dishwasher, is 320 cm (126 inches).

I have also ordered my countertop today in 320 cm (126 inches) because the 60 cm (24 inches) tall cabinet is supposed to go next to it.

I am now worried that on the far left by the wall, there might be a gap of about 0.5 to 1.0 cm (0.2 to 0.4 inches) if I can’t fit the dishwasher into a 60 cm (24 inches) wide niche.

Do you have any ideas on how to cleverly and neatly cover a small gap between the wall and the countertop?

Regards,
Chris

In the last silicone joint compound test I read, there were significant differences in shrinkage among the products. With one centimeter (0.4 inches), this can be quite noticeable.

I am now planning to glue an 8mm (0.3 inch) worktop there.

On top of that will be a 4mm (0.15 inch) glass panel and a 6mm (0.24 inch) silicone joint. This should look good.

Does anyone have a different idea for the sides? Maybe just an L-profile to prevent anything from flowing under the worktop?

Cutting 8mm (0.3 inches) seems tricky to me. Just attach the wall trim and that should be fine, right?

I have a basic question....
Would it be possible for you to shift everything 1 cm (0.4 inches) to the left? That includes the carcasses under the countertop. Having 1 cm (0.4 inches) extra space on the right side next to the tall cabinet wouldn’t be a problem, would it?

The wall trim would only be on the sides, because I need to install a recessed outlet on the front surface. That leaves no room for a trim piece there. Well, we’ll see.

It’s not that simple.

Having trim only on the sides and none on the front probably won’t look very good.

Is all of this already in place? A photo would be helpful. Or a planner drawing.
