I believe it is difficult to compare prices for stairs from different regions. It is also important to consider the type of staircase in question. Not to mention the various woods and their finishes. Some people value a uniform color, which can be challenging with woods like beech, while others prefer a more irregular surface.

I can understand stair builders who firmly refuse to stain beech because the final result often does not meet many customers’ expectations. You have to be aware that display stairs will never look exactly the same in a home as they do in a showroom. The best way to get a realistic impression is to visit several neighbors and see their stairs in person.

Lighting conditions, depending on the type of wood, may have already darkened or faded. Different wood logs also involve various oils, stains, or varnishes, as well as the type of staircase. You will most likely never hear, “It looks exactly the same,” but rather something like, “It could look somewhat like this…”

We completely removed our staircase from the main construction contract and ordered it directly from the general contractor’s staircase manufacturer. The additional costs our general contractor wanted to charge were simply outrageous.
