ᐅ How close to the property boundary can a wood storage rack be placed?

Hello,

In the next few days, I want to build a frame using guardrails as the base, steel posts, and trapezoidal sheets on top. This will be used to store 1m (3 ft 3 in) split firewood.

How close am I allowed to place this structure to the neighboring property boundary?

Asking the neighbor if it bothers them is difficult since the house is vacant and will soon be sold through a forced auction. New neighbors are expected to move in around spring.

Thank you.

1m³ (cubic meter) is certainly not the case; otherwise, the guardrails would be massively oversized.
Anyway, a solid roof, regardless of the material, is generally not welcomed.
My little stack is definitely not "allowed," but I have fantastic neighbors who don’t mind it, so we can easily store 80 cubic meters (2,825 cubic feet).

If the whole thing doesn’t look too bulky, I would probably just go ahead with it. If the neighbor ever complains, you can always move it later.
What is the final height, length, and width of the whole structure?

and of that 45 ... 45 cords...
I assume that in Bavaria, some people still heat exclusively with wood and need 15 cubic meters (15 cubic yards) for one year.

In that respect, there is no objection to stacking one cubic unit, which I estimate to be about 1.5 meters (5 feet) high and one meter (3 feet) wide.

Ah, you mean the original poster’s specification?!
Now that makes sense.
Yes, 1m is poorly defined [emoji851]

There are two frames, 1.2m (4 feet) deep, 4m (13 feet) long, and about 1.8m (6 feet) high including the roof.
The guardrails are definitely over the top, but back then people just used them because they could get them for free.
We took them down the day before yesterday and will set them up here over the weekend.

Best regards,
