Hello,

do you have cameras installed to monitor your house? Wired or wireless? The wired option seems safer to me. What kind of cables should be prepared for this?

I would appreciate any suggestions and information.

Okay, thanks for your input.
POE seems to be sufficient, that already helps me a lot.

I won’t be installing a Mobotix camera at 1000€ (about $1100) each on the house for now, even though they are great.
I’m rather looking for a complete set around 1000€ (about $1100) total, so 4-5 cameras with a POE switch, etc.
I want to experiment first and then possibly upgrade!

Hello,

We have installed a camera, and more will be added.

Although our camera supports Wi-Fi, I connected it via LAN cable for security reasons and better transmission quality.

We mounted it under the eaves. The electrician ran LAN cable and 230V power to the attic for this.

The system is connected to my Synology NAS, allowing me to access it worldwide. Additionally, the camera can rotate 355 degrees and tilt to some extent. This way, I can control the camera’s pan, tilt, and zoom functions remotely via the app from anywhere in the world.

Which exact camera model did you install?

Try searching for Zilnk on the major US online retailer’s site, it should be the first result. It’s sold directly by Zilnk through Amazon. Costs €149.99.
