Hello everyone, I’m planning to assemble my IKEA Pax wardrobe soon and wanted to ask in advance which tools are essential to complete the assembly as efficiently and smoothly as possible. It would be great if you could share from personal experience or detailed knowledge which screwdrivers are needed (Phillips, flathead, Torx?), whether a cordless drill is absolutely necessary, if a hammer or perhaps an Allen key is very helpful, and if there are any other tools that make the build significantly easier. I’m especially interested in hearing if there are tools not originally recommended but that still offer major advantages. Thanks for your support!

Sometimes it is worth having an extra helper when it comes to aligning and holding the parts in place. Working with just a screwdriver and no extra hands is often more difficult than using the right tools. Also, don’t forget to take breaks, otherwise concentration may suffer.

I see the cordless screwdriver as a convenience tool, not a necessity.
I can confirm that. For simple Pax models, a Phillips screwdriver and patience are usually enough. However, when dealing with heavy sliding doors or very tall cabinets, a cordless screwdriver can make a significant difference.

For efficiency, I also recommend sorting all screws and small parts before starting. This way, you avoid searching during the construction phase, which saves both time and frustration. A sorting box is very helpful.

Construction is not difficult if you don’t rush. Keep your tools to the essentials: a cordless drill with torque control, a Phillips screwdriver, a hammer, and that’s it.

One more tip: Clear some space beforehand to have good access and to prepare everything on the floor.

Anyone who has a small angle or protractor can use it to check the final adjustments on the cabinet. This ensures better stability and provides peace of mind during installation.
