Hello
We need to buy all new furniture for our new build.
The current pieces are just inexpensive temporary furniture that wouldn’t survive a move.
The furniture should definitely be of good quality and suitable for a new build 😀 (so nothing from, for example, discount stores). Durability is also very important.
Which furniture brands should we consider for living room cabinets (sideboard, lowboard, etc.), tables (dining table, coffee table), and upholstered furniture (sectional sofas)?
Which furniture brands offer good quality in the mid-price range?
The following brands come to mind:
Musterring
Hülsta
What other brands are there in the mid-price range where quality and price are well balanced?

I’ve just treated myself to a sectional sofa from Möbel Höffner. I’m not sure about the brand, but it’s highly customizable. However, it gets very expensive if you configure it freely. So, you only get the discounted price if you take it exactly as displayed. Interestingly, that actually works for us. Instead of 8,000 euros, it’s 4,000 euros.

I think furniture stores have raised their prices too much in recent years. They really overdo it. You can "only" buy there when they have some 40% discount promotions. And even then, the prices are still unrealistically high. Fortunately, we were able to take almost everything from our old apartment with us. Only the kitchen, bathroom, and walk-in closet were new. And that was already more than enough. 😳
We have a lot of Musterring and also Hülsta.
I find Musterring offers an excellent price-performance ratio.
Hülsta is top quality but also very expensive.
For our new build, we will mainly rely on Musterring again.
The only exception is the dining table, which will be from WK Wohnen.
However, if you are looking for good mid-range prices, I would recommend Musterring.
With Musterring, you can also see the suggested retail prices on their website, giving you a pretty good overview of the price offered to you in the furniture store.

Are there any good alternatives to Musterring?
That are similarly priced or cheaper?
And of similar quality to Musterring?

Just take a look around furniture stores as already suggested. You can see and feel the difference between “cheap junk” and quality. It starts with the handles or finger pulls, hinges… and ends with the surface (or vice versa).
However, I wouldn’t base my choice solely on brands, but rather on what looks good, is of decent quality, and fits your budget. Visiting furniture stores is best in the fall…
What exactly are mid-range furniture? 🙄
