ᐅ Which LED spotlights are best for smart home integration?

Hello,

As I understand it, the recessed LED light supplied by the BUS system will only receive 24 volts. Is that correct?

Does it then make sense to buy only 24-volt LED spotlights, or is it better to use a transformer?

The lighting fixtures depend on what I can use. It’s an EIB bus from MyGekko arranged in a ring topology, and then from the switch probably NYM cable, right?

EIB, MyGekko, and ring topology are three things that don’t fit together at all…

First, find out exactly what you ordered… then someone can help you. It won’t work this way…

ONeill, what type of cables did you use from the distribution to the spots? Standard NYM 3x1.5?

I have now installed 5x2.5 cables. Five conductors to remain flexible for the future (DALI or whatever may come eventually) and 2.5 because of the cable lengths. I wanted to be on the safe side here.

In general, of course, three conductors should be sufficient, and you can calculate based on the cable length and cross-section.

PS: as a driver, better to use eldoLED instead of MDT controller

I have ordered MyGekko, and I don’t really care how it gets installed. At the end of the day, it just needs to work, and if you don’t feel like answering my question so I can make use of it, then please just don’t write anything.

I want to install the LED spotlights myself and am wondering which ones I can use. Should I buy the expensive 24-volt spotlights or can I use 230-volt spotlights with a transformer since they are cheaper? Pros and cons would be appreciated. Thank you.

You’re quite funny... with questions like these* you won’t be able to install your own spotlights or operate your smart home. I can guarantee that already. Have fun anyway..

* yes, they do exist... Your question was something like: "I ordered a car, do I need the red life jackets to drive it or is one tire enough?"
