Hello everyone,

So, we have been living in our new house for about 6 weeks now. The old house is finally completely empty and almost ready to hand over. It’s about time to take care of the many small things still missing in the new house.

One of these small things is a bit bigger though: the bathroom mirror is still missing.

The issue: it should be about 200 cm (79 inches) wide and 80 cm (31 inches) high. And as flat as possible. Most online retailers seem to offer mirrors that are 25–40 mm (1–1.6 inches) thick when including lighting, and even the plain mirrors without lighting often have a thickness of 15–20 mm (0.6–0.8 inches). I would like to have it mounted as flush to the wall as possible.

So here’s my question to the group: Where did you order your bathroom mirrors, and where can I find one that sits as flat as possible on the wall?

Thanks and best regards,

Andreas

We also wanted a mirror with a very low profile and found what we were looking for at "My Spiegel." The crystal mirror with hook mounting is about as thick as a tile (approximately 10-12mm (0.4-0.5 inches)); if glued, you could save another 5mm (0.2 inches). We are very satisfied with the mirror.

Eidsa from Ikea. 9.99 euros. 1cm (0.4 inches) thick.

Hello,
thanks for your replies here. Just a quick update. I finally ordered the mirrors from MySpiegel.
Plain mirror glass, 6mm (1/4 inch) thick, plus the mounting behind it. Together, about 15mm (5/8 inch).
It cost only about one-third of what the local glaziers wanted.

Best regards,

Andreas
