What would you do differently in your next house build? (For us, there won’t be a next time, but I think beginners can benefit from our experience.) Please stay on topic and avoid lengthy discussions (feel free to start a new thread for that)!
I’ll start:
* Electrician: A network connection in every room isn’t necessary; nowadays everyone uses Wi-Fi, which is perfectly sufficient.
* Us: OK, then we’ll install one network connection per floor where the TV is going, you have to save somewhere.
* Result: At the network outlet, we get 50 Mbit/s, Wi-Fi with a repeater around 20, sometimes only about 5, Powerline adapters around 25. It’s enough for me, but the kids are disappointed. I followed all the usual advice.

I can't really imagine anything useful here either: how are outlets supposed to not obstruct the reveals; and why would you specifically need them there?By placing them on the side of a double casement window that opens secondarily. We had that once; holiday decorations rarely hung there, but due to the location near the sofa, a phone or laptop was regularly placed there.

I can’t really imagine anything useful about that either: how are the sockets in reveals supposed to not obstruct the opening; and why exactly would you need them there? The sockets themselves don’t obstruct the opening. Even with a standard plug, it’s okay. It was sold to us as a great invention for Christmas lighting. It’s quite practical if you don’t want to run three extension cords all the way to the window... but if you add a timer switch in between, it can get a bit bulky...
Just: why not better in the window sill rather than in the reveal?

Hello,
That was the system you spent 400 hours (!!) learning and then did the programming yourself, right?
You really have to have the time for that, which is why only a few people do it.
The playful side of me misses KNX, but the realist in me is relieved not to have it. I simply wouldn’t have the time to deal with it.
There are a few applications I could use it for (venetian blinds, roller shutters, outdoor lighting). But life is pretty good with a simple solution, too...
Keep it simple and enjoy your time...
Best regards,
Andreas
