ᐅ Potential Savings from Building a Semi-Detached House Together

HBiHHHello,
has anyone ever jointly commissioned a semi-detached house with the other building partner? Are there any opportunities to save costs, for example connection fees, by ordering it together and then sharing the expenses?
The reason for my question is that the city of Heiligenhaus will only sell the plot once the semi-detached partner has been found. You are supposed to "choose" your preferred neighbor, and if desired, build together since the two halves of the house should look identical from the outside.
Thank you,
HBiHH

HBiHH schrieb:I don’t think that’s the case; sorry. Isn’t it more likely that you were offered the plot through a developer, and they only want to build once the second duplex partner is found? I work a lot with Heiligenhaus, and this argument is new to me, especially since the development plan regulates everything anyway, and the second partner would not be allowed to build any differently.

Hello building expert,
According to the city of Heiligenhaus, the two plots of land, which are being sold separately, must be signed together with the other building partner at the notary. I don’t know if you have heard of the GrünSelbeck development, but it seems the procedure was the same there.
So I can’t start building without a building partner yet :-(
But I’m allowed to search on my own as well :-)

But I’m allowed to look for one myself 🙂 Sorry – but they are becoming more restrictive (no, I’m not aware of this being the case in Selbeck) … that area is a special case from a building authority perspective anyway 🙁Finding a second building partner shouldn’t be a problem. Many interested buyers want to build in this region – of course, this also depends on whether the plot price is realistic and final, or if additional infrastructure costs apply.
