ᐅ What is the best way to fill holes in masonry? Using expanding foam?

Hello everyone,

Since the mason installed the empty conduit pipes and the drain straight through the middle of the wall and accordingly left the bricks open, the question arises: what would be the best way to close these openings (see picture)?

What would you use? Expanding foam? Screed?

Thank you very much

Steffen

Unfortunately, we had to go through this experience as well, which has led us to do more and more ourselves.

Blower door test leakage at the electrical installation: The screed is scheduled, the electrician definitely won’t come by for such a minor issue, and the screed installer doesn’t care and just covers it up despite the leakage. So who’s going to fix this quickly now?

100 points for the homeowner.

The same goes for the outlet in the ground floor ceiling for the underfloor heating: the plumber says he won’t do anything, the structural builder won’t come to fill such a small hole. And before someone just fills it with expanding foam, I’ll do it myself.

This happened to us quite often as well. It's understandable when you hire out or do each trade separately. The interfaces between tasks are often not clearly defined.
But I much preferred being able to do these things myself. If someone else had done it, it would have just been done quickly and poorly (botched work). So, I really don’t want to know how often such botched jobs occur with a general contractor or similar.
