Hello everyone, I am currently assembling an Ikea Platsa system, and I noticed that some people mention using adhesive tape as a helpful tool to hold parts in place or make the assembly easier. I’m interested in your opinions: What do you think about using adhesive tape when building Ikea PLATSA? Specifically, I would like to know if the tape actually offers any advantages, if there might be risks such as damage to the materials, or if it could have negative effects on stability and durability. Do you use it yourselves, or have you been advised against it? I appreciate any practical tips, personal experiences, or technical insights you can share!

I would also like to know if Laruka means specific areas in the PLATSA system where tape is used?Thank you, Surela, for the detailed assessment! Exactly, when I think of the PLATSA system, I especially consider the back panels, which are supposed to be fixed with nails, but that can be tricky and unstable when building alone. I have seen indications that tape can be used to hold the back panels temporarily before everything is nailed or screwed in place. Additionally, I thought about securing individual shelves, which sometimes don’t stay in position before the final screws are applied. In my opinion, the tape would be a temporary aid, not a permanent solution. Therefore, my concern is whether the surfaces might be damaged or stability affected if too much adhesive material is used. I look forward to further technical advice or tips on alternatives that could help efficiently!
