Our application for the KfW subsidy Efficient House 55 has been approved, so everything is fine there. Now the construction of our single-family house has started, with the ground slab and the first floor completed. My question is whether the energy consultant needs to visit our construction site occasionally to check if everything is being implemented according to the KfW 55 requirements, for example, the insulation around the ground slab.

We called our energy consultant today, but he did not seem to be fully informed. After reading a post yesterday from another member here who trusted their energy consultant too much and ended up without funding, I am a bit concerned.

As complete construction novices, we also cannot judge whether the correct materials specified are being used, so we rely on our site manager.

Thanks for your helpful tips. As I said, this is our first time building, and we don’t want to make any mistakes… it’s just that everything is quite complicated at the moment, but I guess everyone here probably knows that.
