Hello.

I’m not entirely sure if an energy consultant is already required for KfW 55 houses?
On the KfW website it says:
Plan your new property as a KfW efficiency house. Your energy consultant will assist you with this.

But a structural engineer can also submit the KfW application...

Can someone clarify this?
Thanks.

This is how it looks. For costs and invoices amounting to 8,000 euros, 4,000 euros will be reimbursed. It is important to collect all invoices and submit them only after the supervision has been completed.

OK, just to make sure I understand correctly.

The structural engineer prepares the KfW application.
The energy consultant verifies whether everything listed in the application is actually being followed (checking delivery notes, possibly also on-site inspections?).
Is that correct?

Of course, I need the application. But I probably also need the energy consultant’s certification, right? Does this have to be done by independent companies?

Is the subsidy of 50% (up to a maximum of 4000) granted only for the certification or also for submitting the application?

Is an energy consultant also required for the simplified verification method "KfW Efficiency House 55 according to reference values"?

Yes, because they must confirm that the reference values have been met by the materials used accordingly.

OK, so you probably only save the relatively complex calculation, or are there other advantages?

Well, the U-value of the walls, roof, and so on definitely needs to be calculated.

And an energy performance calculation is required anyway for the building permit / planning permission.

However, the thermal bridge assessment according to KfW might be simpler in some cases.

You just have to weigh which approach makes it easier to achieve KfW 55, and in my opinion, you always have to do the calculations for that.
