Hello! I want to build a wall using formwork blocks. 4.5m x 2.5m x 2m (15ft x 8ft x 6.5ft) – 224 formwork blocks measuring 50cm x 25cm x 17.5cm (20in x 10in x 7in) each.
What should I fill all the blocks with?

How much do I need, and if I want to mix it myself, which materials are required?

Best regards

For me, please with apricot jam 🙂

I would say it depends a bit on the purpose of the wall. From the measurements, I assume it is meant to be built in an L-shape – perhaps at a corner of a slope?

What will be on the wall, and what will be pressing against it...?

Also: what are the formwork blocks originally intended for?

Hello bastati,

If you search online, you will quickly find the quantity you need. I can’t say off the top of my head for 17.5 cm (7 inches) blocks. For 30 cm (12 inches) blocks, you need 1 cubic meter (35 cubic feet) of concrete for 8 square meters (86 square feet) of blocks.
You should fill them with concrete — gravel 0/16 and cement. I use a mix ratio of 3 parts gravel to 1 part cement. It hardens very well. And add reinforcement. Horizontally, place two 8 mm (5/16 inch) reinforcing bars in every row. I also add vertical ones. The wall should rest on a proper foundation.
