ᐅ Ventilation Systems: Which Manufacturers and Types Perform Well?

blaupumaHi, we are currently about to decide on a ventilation system.
Bungalow with a granny flat
160 and 70 m2 (1,722 and 753 sq ft).
I was considering both a central and a decentralized solution.
Which manufacturers and models work well? I’m looking forward to real user experiences.
(I’m looking for something quiet, probably like everyone else)
Many thanks

Centralized! There’s a lot of complaining about decentralized systems.
Zehnder seems to be good. But in the end, most home users probably don’t have real opportunities to make direct comparisons. Zehnder was offered to us directly, and that was fine with me. But if it had been Wolf or Vaillant, it probably wouldn’t have bothered me much either. You just look at the data sheets, the listed noise levels, check out the accessories (do you like the valves, is there an (affordable) KNX module if needed, is there an enthalpy heat exchanger, ...)
Zehnder was almost out of the running because they don’t have an exhaust stack for flat roofs, only for pitched roofs. However, the ventilation installer was able to solve this using the accessory program from another manufacturer.

We have a central mechanical ventilation system from Vallox (Heinemann).
It is slightly louder in the room itself compared to Zehnder, but you don’t notice this inside the apartment.
The difference between the two units is only noticeable when they are heard directly side by side (in a showroom).
Inside the Vallox unit, everything is made of metal. This makes it very easy to clean, and in terms of size, the unit is smaller than the Zehnder mechanical ventilation system with the same performance.
Due to limited space in the technical room, we chose Vallox.
Filters can also be easily purchased on a roll and cut to size.

We have the Zehnder Comfoair Q350 TR and are very satisfied so far. The system is very quiet, but you should generally make sure that the exhaust vent outside is placed where it causes the least disturbance. The fresh air intake outside is almost inaudible, while the exhaust air outside is definitely louder. So it should not blow directly towards the neighbor if you live close by.
