Hello,
I am currently researching how to heat our future single-family home. Recently, I came across the term "solar house" and wanted to learn more about it...
There seem to be two alternatives that make sense to me for effectively storing solar heat:
1. The so-called earth tank - Heat is stored directly in the ground beneath the single-family home. I am unsure whether this is practical, and in case of a leak (water pipes similar to those used in underfloor heating), I would have no way to repair anything since it is located directly below the house’s slab.
2. A storage tank - Keeps the heat at a stable temperature for several weeks or months in a tank (principle similar to a thermos flask).
Maybe some of you have experience with this, or have already researched the topic.
I see a future in this technology... storing heat in summer and using it again in winter.
So long...
