Good morning everyone,

I hope this is the right place to ask my question.
We are considering buying my grandmother’s house.

I would like to create a new floor plan (also in 3D).
However, since I’m not an architect or anything similar, I interpret the floor plan very roughly.

Attached is the floor plan of the basement as an example.
For me, the following questions arise:

1. How thick are the individual walls?
2. What are the width and length of the individual rooms?

Sometimes I feel (as I said, maybe I’m reading the plan wrong) that some information is missing.
I would appreciate your help with this.

Thank you in advance!

Then just take about 10 minutes the old-fashioned way and measure the missing dimensions with a tape measure. The positions of the doors aren’t marked either.

Yes, that would naturally be my plan B 🙂
But since the house isn’t just around the corner for me, I’m trying to handle as much as possible from a distance.

Unfortunately, there’s no scale indicated here :/ but thanks anyway for the other information!
It’s usually 1:100, which you can check directly on the plan. That shouldn’t be an issue for a draftsman.

I agree with Hanghaus. Use a scale of 1:100 or calculate the scale yourself.
In any case, I would definitely measure it on site.
Perhaps the missing dimensions, such as corridor length or staircase position, can be identified from the ground floor plan.

Wall thicknesses have already been mentioned by nordanney
In my opinion, the 12cm (5 inches) wall is not a full wall but rather part of a party wall, which would then be 24cm (10 inches) thick in total (semi-detached house?).

It is an end terraced house.
So you might be right that the wall is actually 24cm (9.5 inches) thick.
