I hope this is the right place to ask my question.
We are considering buying my grandmother’s house.
I would like to create a new floor plan (also in 3D).
However, since I’m not an architect or anything similar, I interpret the floor plan very roughly.
Attached is the floor plan of the basement as an example.
For me, the following questions arise:
1. How thick are the individual walls?
2. What are the width and length of the individual rooms?
Sometimes I feel (as I said, maybe I’m reading the plan wrong) that some information is missing.
I would appreciate your help with this.
Thank you in advance!

nordanney22 Jul 2024 13:41These are the respective wall thicknesses, 11.5cm (4.5 inches) and 24cm (9.5 inches), each without plaster.
The left wall has external dimensions of 7.62m (25 feet), consisting of a 24cm (9.5 inches) wall thickness at the top, then an interior space of 3.85m (12.6 feet), followed by an 11.5cm (4.5 inches) wall, then another interior space of 3.175m (10.4 feet), and finally a 24cm (9.5 inches) wall thickness of the lower wall.
From left to right, the external dimension is 6.37m (21 feet 0 inches) (noted below): left wall 12cm (4.7 inches), then a 4.01m (13.2 feet) room (is there no wall between the storage area and the heating room?), 24cm (9.5 inches) wall, 1.76m (5.8 feet) washroom, 24cm (9.5 inches) wall.
There should actually be a scale indicated somewhere on the plan.
The wall thicknesses are dimensioned, except for the storage room - heating area. This was likely added later. That’s why you’re missing measurements such as the width of the rooms. The length of the staircase and hallway is also missing. You should be able to get a rough idea using the scale and a ruler. All other measurements are present.
The storage/heating room is originally 401 x 385 cm (158 x 152 inches)
The bar is 401 x 317.5 cm (158 x 125 inches)
The hallway and laundry room are each 176 cm (69 inches) wide; the length must be calculated using a ruler and the scale.
Nordanney has already provided the wall thicknesses.
