The waste pipe from our toilet became completely clogged with limescale deposits and recently required extensive cleaning. However, our house is only 10 years old, so a waste pipe shouldn’t become fully blocked in such a short time, right? The plumber said it was due to the pipes and their rough surfaces, something that wouldn’t be used nowadays. Now the question is whether I should replace the pipes or if there is a way to prevent limescale buildup. Does anyone have any advice?

Heavy buildup of urine scale can also be worsened by using only the water-saving flush button; in this case, not enough water flows through to properly rinse the pipe.
Occasionally using the full flush capacity would be better.
Try this first before spending a lot of money on new pipes.
